1. Overview of the App

The Maquassi Hills Local Municipality Electricity Application is the software provided both for Android and IOS platforms. It is used to help users utilize prepaid services provided by Maquassi Hills Local Municipality Electricity Company.

Application’s main functions:
● The app provides users with a comprehensive view of all their electricity meters, both active and previously used.
● Users can conveniently send previously purchased tokens directly to their meter’s balance using the app. After sending, a change of balance informs users about a successful refill.
● Users can easily check the balance of their prepaid electricity tokens within the app. The balance is displayed clearly and concisely, allowing users to see everyday consumption dynamics and the final balance for each day.
● Estimation of electricity consumption.
● Comprehensive information about locations where users can find support or purchase tokens.
● Reporting directly from within the application about the absence of electricity, meter malfunction, or damage online.

Overall, the application allows users to keep track of their energy consumption over time, make informed decisions about their usage, and plan accordingly.

 

2. Before using the app:

2.1. Download the Maquassi Hills Local Municipality Electricity Application.
2.2. After the app is downloaded the button “Run application” becomes active – press it.
First, you will see the app Sign in screen.
2.3. If you are using an application for the first time, press the “Sign up” link to create an account to start using an application.

2.4. Create an account using the “Sign up”:
● Type into the “Account No” field an account number you received from the municipality company.
● In the “Phone field” input your mobile phone number.
● In the “E-mail field” input your real email address.
● Read the “Terms & Conditions” and “Privacy Policy” documents carefully.
● Mark “I agree” to state your agreement with the rules and regulations stated in those documents.
● Press the “Create an account” button.

After the account is successfully created, you will receive an email to the address you used during registration.
The email contains a temporary password, which you should use to access the application for the first time.

After a successful login with your temporary password, you will be immediately redirected to the password change page to set up a new password.

The new password must be at least 6 characters long.

Note: It is crucial to remember and securely save your new password so you can effortlessly access your account in the future.

2.5. Log into the account using the Sign-in
screen.
● Type an account number you received from the municipality company in the “Account No” field.
● Type the password you created in the “Password” field (for your first login, use the temporary password you received in an email after creating an account).
The new password must be at least 6 characters long.
● If you forgot a password, press the “Forgot password” link – you will be redirected to the password reset screen, where you can request a code to reset your password using an account number.
If you forgot your account number, you can request to send your Account number to the email that you provided during registration.
● Press the “Log in” button.

By default, an application will save your credentials and will keep you signed in for the next use.
If you want to sign out when you leave the application, mark “Log me out after”.
If you don’t have an account, use the “Sign up” hyperlink and create an account.
If you need help, press the “Need help?” button
to get access to the “Frequently Asked Questions” section.

2.6. Input a 4-digit security code
After you log in the first time, an application will prompt you to create a 4-digit code to enter an application.

Then you need to confirm the 4-digit code you just entered by entering it again.

During subsequent logins, you must input a 4-digit security code you created during the first login.

If you fail to input the right 4-digit code three times, you will be logged out from the application and will need to log in again to use the app.

If you input the 4-digit security code successfully, you will be redirected to the Application Home screen.

You can find a navigation menu on the bottom of your screen, where you can easily switch between Home screen > Charge screen > Settings screen and vice versa.

 

3. Home screen

Contains information about:
3.1. Active Meters:
● Name of the Meter
● Type of meter
● Adress
● Last update
● Current tariff
● Current Balance

3.2. You can see all Meters, including those previously used, by pressing the link “See All” in the top right corner.
3.3. Frequently Asked Questions “FAQ”
section.
3.4. The “Offices” section helps you find the office that can provide payment, charge, and support services.
3.5. The “How Much” section helps estimate energy consumption based on the types of equipment you use and its work time.
3.6 “Report” Section – enables reporting problems online such as:
– No electricity,
– Meter is broken,
– The line is damaged,
And view previously sent reports.

 

4. Meter data details

By taping on the Active Meter on your Home screen, you can see:
● Name of the Meter
● Type of meter
● Meter address
● Date of last information update
● Current tariff
● Current Balance
● Detailed everyday Consumption, kWh
● Monthly fees
● Vat %

Using the “Charge” button on the bottom of the
screen, you can easily charge the Meter with prepaid tokens you already purchased (you can view them on the “Charge” screen) by selecting not not-used token and pressing the “Send to meter” button.

Using the “Update” button on the bottom of the screen, you can view changes in the Balance of the Meter after you charged it with Tokens.

Using the “Report” button, you can report problems online by selecting the appropriate category: No electricity, Meter is broken, The line is damaged, and filling in additional information.

 

5. Tariff view screen

You can view details about the current tariff by taping “Tariff” button.

 

6. Balance view screen

You can view details about the current balance by tapping on the “Balance” button.

Use the “See all” link to see all available information or select a custom period to view.

 

7. Charge Screen

Contains information about your active meters and tokens that were charged for each Meter.

You can view All charges for the selected Meter.

You can separately view Used and Not used tokens for the selected meter.

For each Token you can view:
● The date and time of use
● Name
● Volume
● Status (used or not)
● Recepit
● Operation Details

 

8. How to charge tokens

You can see all your purchased tokens both used and not used on the “Charge” screen.

You can select a token to view detailed information about it.

If the token is not used yet you can use it by pressing the blue button “Send to meter”.

 

9. Settings

Screen allows you to set up personal preferences and have easy access to other important functions:
9.1. Login and authorization
● switch use biometric authentication or not
● change the password if needed
9.2. Contact support – in case of need of
immediate help.
9.3. Application settings – pick language.
9.4. Log out.
9.5. View the version of the application.
