These are appliance monitoring and control devices, enabling the utility company and the consumer to measure & control specific appliances within the customer premises such as air-conditioner, hot water boiler, under floor heating, etc.  Each APM/APC includes RF or PLC communication and internal relay to allow connect/disconnect of operations.

Customer Interface Unit or In-Home-Display.  A smart tablet running Android with an application and RF communications, allowing the customer to monitor the real time and past consumption, and enable scheduling of individual appliances.

There are two ways. If there is an electricity meter adjacent to the water meter, the electricity meter will act as a gateway to the water meter using RF communication.  Otherwise the water meter sends the information to the RF Concentrator and by GPRS or IP to the Server.

The Concentrator communicates with any meter at a distance of 1,000m.  With PowerCom’s semi-mesh network, it is possible to communicate to distance of 10 km.
