Polyphase Smart Electricity Meter (PCR423)

Polyphase Smart Electricity
Meter (PCR423)
The PCR423 is a powerful three-phase smart electricity meter offering two-way AMI multi-communications (PLC, GPRS, RF), internal relay unit for remote disconnection, and precise energy measurement (positive and reverse active energy, leading and lagging reactive energy in 4 quadrants, active power, maximum demand, reactive power, RMS voltage & current, power factor and frequency). It also integrates power limitation – disconnecting load when configurable power or frequency thresholds are exceeded. The meter is fully compliant with IEC, ISO, STS, SABS and DLMS. It is a fully tamper-proof meter, and operates in prepayment or postpaid mode, remotely switchable via PowerCom’s AMI solution. Multiple tariffs are remotely configured for step-incline tariff and time of use (TOU). Bi-directional energy measurement supports connection to alternative energy production such as solar panel or wind turbines.

Features

Remotely configurable as credit or prepayment.

PLC, RF. LAN or GRPS Uplink.

Open protocols.

Net metering – two-way measurement of active Energy, producing billing with +A and –A individually.

Measures RMS voltage, RMS current, power factor.

Multi-tariffs.

Multi current thresholds: Imax, Icritical and Idebt.

Benefits

Flexibility to use same equipment as pre-payment or credit, and switch between the two.

Hot swappable communications module.

Interface with 3rd party meter/sensor manufacturers.

Suited to installations with consumer generated energy production.

Demand response: In power shortage conditions, limits consumption – remotely configurable.

Enables Step Tariff or TOU with 4 tariffs and 8 customer billing cycles.

Protects the utility circuit breakers, and also can limit when the customer has outstanding debt
